Five lenses every Ghanaian videographer should try

From the workhorse 24-70 to the cinematic anamorphic, here are the lenses we hand out most often — and why.

Whether you're shooting a wedding, a documentary, or a brand campaign, the lens you pick shapes the story more than almost any other choice on set. Here are five our most-rented lenses, and what each one is best for.

1. The workhorse zoom

The 24-70mm f/2.8 is the lens most of our clients reach for first. It covers most of what you need on a run-and-gun shoot, handles low light well, and plays nicely with every body we stock.

2. The portrait prime

An 85mm f/1.4 will flatter almost any face. If you're doing interviews, portraits, or intimate narrative, this is worth the extra weight.

3. The wide

14-24mm or a 16mm prime — for interiors, product, and the occasional dramatic establishing shot.

4. The macro

Often overlooked, a 100mm macro opens up product, food, and detail-shot work that would be impossible otherwise.

5. The anamorphic

If you want your project to look like a movie, shoot it on an anamorphic. We rent a few — ask us.
