Wedding season checklist: what to rent (and what to bring yourself)

Ghanaian wedding season is chaos. Here's what to rent, what to bring, and the one thing most shooters forget.

If you're a photographer or videographer shooting weddings in Ghana this season, you know the drill — long days, heat, multiple venues, and almost always more ceremony than anyone warned you about. Here's the kit we put together most often for wedding clients.

Rent this

  • Two camera bodies (you don't want to swap a card mid-bouquet-toss)
  • A 24-70 and an 85 prime, minimum
  • Two speedlights or a small LED panel for the reception
  • A second monopod — you will break one

Bring your own

  • Comfortable shoes. Not joking.
  • Spare lens cloths and a silica pack
  • A portable fan for the suite

Don't forget

Backup media. Not one card. Three. Your future self will thank you.
